Baby Album Part 1 | Project Life

As promised here is the baby album using Becky Higgins Project Life Baby Edition for Her. I really love how easy it is to do every month. The hardest part is getting my photos ready and printed for the pockets. It takes me about 30 minutes to for each month. It takes a little longer for me to print journaling on my 3x4 cards, but I like the result of hand journaling with typed journaling and will be do the same on my daily Project Life.

These pages are from the beginning of the album. Before she was born, I completed as much as possible.

I stamped the title with American Craft Alpha Stamp set. I took photos of my progressive belly shots from 12 weeks to 39 week photos and cropped them to a 3x4 and placed in each pocket and added journaling cards in between.

I did a combination of hand writing and printed journaling from my printer.

I cut down a Design B to add a insert. This is her big entrance photos from her birthday.

 This page is all about her and her features. I wanted it to show just her and all the small details about her.

Sadie's Nursery

I finally completely finished Sadie's nursery last week. I did not completely plan her nursery before she was born, because we were going to move after she was born. We moved to Georgia from Texas when she was only 2 weeks old! While I did not plan her nursery, I did know how I wanted it to look.  I bought the sheet from Land of Nod, a few frames, and the shadow box, but that was it.

• I already had most of the things that are in her nursery (side table, frames, chair, shelf, curtains, basket, crib skirt) 
• I repainted a small side table white that is beside the chair
• I repainted a used lamp blue
• I found used items (frames, vase, dressing table)
• My mom made her hexagon quilt
• Made her fabric banner pennat
• Ikea chandelier
• My husband made the book display
• Shadow box (Michaels)
• Print (etsy)

I wanted a calm, vintage, girly feel to her nursery. By using grey on the walls, it gives it a soft, calm feel to the room. This is a really small room, but I was able to put everything in the room that I wanted. I wanted to keep the walls very neutral so that I could just add pops of color. I added a cluster of frames to one wall with frames that I could find. I used a combination of prints and items to the wall. Some are digital that I had printed, I created a silhouette of her and placed in frame, I used the shadow box to display what she wore in and home from the hospital and her birth announcement.

Sooo Close

yet even though I have about 3 weeks left they are slooooowwwly ticking by and 3 weeks seems like forever. And I feel even more anxious because we are moving very soon. Bags are pack and car seat is in to car. We are ready. And she can come at anytime or could be right on time.

Here is my growing belly. I have taken a photo every months since October. I almost don't fit into the frame in the last photo so far for April.



I am so ready to meet her and begin the whirl wind of the month of May.

Exciting news

Here with our family. We are growing from a family of 3 to a family of 4 soon. We are expecting our second child from God in May. We are so excited!

I have had morning sickness since we have found out and still continue to have it all day, everyday. I have been very very unproductive! That is why I have just now blogged. Though my belly is growing, my clothes are getting loser. Thank you morning sickness (not really a good thing). Hoping that is subsides soon.

Ruger is excited about this baby! He points to his tummy when asked where the baby is. He says he wants a little brother or sister and also says he doesn't. He says he doesn't want to be a big brother. But he loves babies and says he does! Also has always been fascinated with other babies. Just the other day he looked up at my belly and said "big belly." I really didn't think that it has gotten that big. But through a toddler's eyes I have.

I am 14 weeks and starting to get the cute little bump.

So here is to a heathy baby in 6 months!

Sleeping

 This is one of my very favorite photos. I have been holding on and to this one for a long time waiting for that perfect paper and feel of scrapbook supplies. It was taken early a 1 1/2 ago. It was just an ordinary nap time curled up on my bed, but I just love how sweet and subtle he looks peacefully napping... though I did have the camera in his face. I so wish he was that little again.

And this one I just love with the pacifier and holding his dog.

Well I found the perfect supplies and it hit me. Use my die cut machine (shilouette) to make "falling" stars. Then I cut pattern paper to fit behind the die cut card stock. I tucked the journaling behind the photo in a pocket.

I also made this card. I made this card for a year old birthday girl. I just love the Dear Lizzy line with the soft colors.

Welcome Fall

The weather is not quite fall-ish for me! But it is a little cooler in the mornings. Which makes me happy. I have been extra excited for this fall and I am not sure why I am so excited. I think it may be due to this awful summer in the heat. I mean sweating in my home because we have awful cooling!! Or the hot chocolate, roasted marshmallow, wearing a jacket... And the fact that this weekend we went to the La Union Corn Maze in New Mexico.

It was rather warm, but we really enjoyed all the activities. Ruger LOVED it so much! He did not want to leave. I think the only reason we got him out to the car was because he was so tired from all the excitement and fell asleep on the way home! He got to walk the corn maze with us, pet and feed the farm animals, play in a huge sand box, slide on slides, ride the hayride, pick at the pumpkin patch, ride the cows, bonce on the bouncy thingy, and ate roasted corn. And there is still a lot of fall left to go!!!

4 months

to a very busy little toddler in just one year!

16 months

Right now he...

gets into everything.

loves food. A favorite is bananas.

has his own language, that for the life of me, I can not understand.

scratches himself so much that I must keep clothes on him.

thinks everything is a phone. It could be a lens cap, hair dryer plug in, etc. I love how he holds it on his shoulder.

loves to get his teeth brushed.

knows how to pitch a little tantrum.

has a awesome forced laugh.

has A LOT of teeth.

can say dada. And for the most part that is about it. He can shake his head no and yes. Yes is putting his chin to his neck (love!). He can give the sign for "all done" & "more."

loves to give kisses. Blow them or on the face.

found the joy of stickers.

grows in independence everyday.

laughs and talks a lot!

And we can't get enough of him.

Scraps

I have decided to dive into traditional scrapbooking. I will continue to crank out plenty of digital layouts too. I like using both mediums. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Since I do not have a really good local store I am now using Studio Calico's monthly kits. I love their selections. Here is my first layouts using May's Kit Lawn Party.

First Steps

Just as R turned 13 months old, he begins taking steps. Many babies walk early and many walk later. I am glad he has only been crawling. I am not ready for the chase yet. When he stared standing he did not want to he would pull his legs up. So I am not surprised it took him a little while to be interested in walking. He just was all of a sudden interested in taking steps. Now he thinks it's fun.
The video quality is not very good in poor lighting.
In the video you may notice that these particular pjs are getting too small. Time to get rid of 9 month pajamas.





Then the next day we went to the park in the late afternoon and practice walking. It was so nice outside. Not too hot like it has been being and the grass is green thanks to the sprinklers. If you don't know we live in El Paso where it rained this day and you cannot even tell that it rained and it hadn't rained in 180 days. Just in the desert for ya!
And by the way, I think my husband has an eye for photos. Can you tell which ones he took?
