Design Team Blog Hop | American Crafts

Welcome to my blog! I am so excited to continue on the American Crafts Design Team.

Note to Self
By Erin

Journaling: I love making pretty thins. Just love anything pretty. I am nice, loving, faithful, peaceful, happy, content, and strong. I love my family and being a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy taking care of our home. I love my husband, kids, and God.  Living the life!

To make this project, I started by cutting 1/2 inches off each side of white cardstock. I then added a pattern 12x12 paper being cardstock. Then I arranged different elements into a circle around the page. I also added stamping with chalk inks as I went. I added my name with foam tickers.

Supplies: I used a lot of Soho Garden and 5th and Frolic.

It's hard focusing on ourselves. And writing nice things about ourselves. A good challenge!

Thanks for stopping by on the blog hop!

Gallery Projects | American Crafts

Up now in my lastest gallery projects using American Crafts. The holidays we were out of town visiting family. I finally have the time to sit down and update my blog, which I never have done enough. It really makes me sad that I don't spend more time here. Well enjoy!

This layout is of my new niece, Avery. She was less than a week old in these photos. She is a doll. I was so happy to be able to use more of my Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line with the pastel colors with all the girly elements. I also misted with one of my favorite mist right now, Heidi Swapp's Color shine in Gold Lame and Primrose. My favorite element is the stiching the hearts and a few sequins under the photo.

Your Heart Will Lead You Home

Using Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic, I made this layout. The home theme to this line could not be more perfect for this photo of homecoming. The theme is home. I wanted to stick all the little sayings on one page because they were so perfect. The title was taken from one of the chip board pieces (your heart will lead you home)... perfect.

This picture is is blurry, but it is one of my very favorites of a very special moment. J came home from his first and only deployment. One of a kind for us! So I wanted to also make a mini album (below) to display all the photos with this line.

I love banners so that was my central element on this layout. I also misted this layout with Color Shine Gold Lame. I cut the banner title with my cameo. Added stiching and a pocket for my jorunaling on a tag.

I made this for the sequence of homecoming photos from earlier this year. For the cover, I stiched through the gold glitter thickers and added stickers and 2 die cuts.

The clipboard is so adorable. I added a instagram photo and a few strips of paper and a bow.

I had more than one photo of "the big moment", so I added a flap to show both photos with out taking away from the photos and make them largest photos in the album.

To create this journaling, I cut from my cameo and added more with my handwritting. I also used mist to water color the paper. Then placed over a piece of the 6x6 pad.

I added an envelope for little pieces and the journaling.

Best of 2012 Mini Album
Best of 2012

I used Neapolitan line for this mini album. I wanted a place to put all my favorite 2012 photos. I will be adding up to 40 or so photos from last year. And adding cut borders to the edges of the photos.

Thank you for looking at my projects!

Right Now

I cannot believe it is the second month of this year. And it seems this year has only begin.
I started the new year on the phone with my husband who was on his way back from R&R. I was so thankful to been able to ring in the New Year, even if it was on the phone.

Right now life is going fast. We are staying busy which makes the days pass quickly. Staying busy where the days past fast is good during a deployment. Last month we have celebrate day 100. I wanted to do something to mark a milestone for the deployment. So we celebrated day 100 with cupcakes and candles and it was fun...and R didn't mind the cupcakes. Now we are half way to the end!!!!!!!!

I am doing Project Life (Becky Higgins).  I decided to do it for one simple reason...my husband requested more pictures. So I decided the best way to do that was to document our everyday. I am so excited to show him when he comes home! He was so excited about the project when I told him about it.

Also I believe crafting/scrapbooking has saved me from going crazy. It keeps me occupied. I have to scrapbook or I get out of sorts! Though I have a few bad days and weeks, they too pass.

The only thing I really have been interested on TV is Once Upon  a Time. Though I need and want to read, I just haven't made the time. Right now R loves Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse.

I have found on so many occasions R sleeping in his bedroom floor. I think he would rather play than sleep so he plays until he falls asleep in the floor.

I am so thankful for friends that have ate lunch/supper with me, gone shopping with me, talked with me, and just hung out. I am so thankful for friends. And I will not forget my family who has put up with R and I. They are a lifesaver.

I am a NOMAD... We have a traveling home right now. No real place on earth to call a "home". But I am okay with that, though sometimes it drives me crazy not having a place of my own.

And I miss him. I miss every bit of him, but I will not bore you with how much I really miss him! Cannot wait until we are all back together again.

Sharing Time

I have some new projects to share today with Crate Paper's products. I have been looking forward to fall so much that I wanted to make a page with last year's annual hayride photos that my parents have done for many years. Naturally I used the Farmhouse collection which is perfect for Fall or even Halloween.

Hayride
Check my this page at the CP Blog.

I also made a mini album using the Peppermint collection. You can see more information on the album HERE.

Alligator Point

I have a instagram page of our family trip to Florida. Ahh... I wish I were there now. Wouldn't that be great, instead of counting down the days until he leaves. Anyway I decided to try my first Sunday sketch over at Studio Calico. It was fun and at first it was not turning out like I wanted it to, but after working with I really love the way this layout turned out. Enjoy. Let it snow

Let it snow, please! With all this heat it would be nice if it were a little cooler. I really love the new Crate Paper collections. Peppermint is wonderful for the winter season coming our way soon. It is colorful and whimsy.

Last winter it snowed in Georgia on Christmas! Which RARELY happens. We had a huge blast playing in the snow. My mom is awesome behind the camera and snapped photos of my husband and I playing in the snow.

I cut out the snow flakes and used some simmer mist on the snowflakes to make them more dreamy. I love how soft this layout feels.

Thanks for looking. Ask if you have any questions.

You can also see this layout over at Crate Paper's blog.
