September This Life Noted | Scraptastic

I have been working with the Scraptastic kits for about a year now. I really love the designs created by Kaitlin Shaffer each month. This month had perfect cards for going back to school, but could also be very versatile for any event.

I created a two page spread documenting our life as first time homeschooling. I used Scraptastic's September 2015 This Life Noted kit.

I had the photos taken the day before we stated the first day of Kindergarten. I love the alphabet cards included in this month's kit. On the back of the alphabet cards are black and white version that makes them versatile for any spread.

The acrylic pieces are my favorite exclusive in this month's kit.

Page two documents our first week homeschooling. The journaling card is from August TLN kit.

The exclusive wood veneer pieces are great and just the right thickness for pocket pages.

 As always.... keeping scrapbooking simple!

Mini Course | Elle's Studio

I am so excited about this new class offered by Elle's Studio called Exclusive Kit Mini Course. Each month there will be a new mini class offered in a pdf format with step by step instructions using Elle's Studio kits. I was one of contributing designer for this month of September. I really enjoyed creating for this class. You may want to decide soon because this class is only available until September 30th.

Messy Girl | Scraptastic

This month at Scraptastic Club I picked a colorful kit named Wednesday Night. I love the embellishments and pattern paper.

My girl is a very messy girl. These photos are a perfectly show her personality. Cute, crazy, and very messy girly girl.

This layout is a horizontal layered layout. I had fun with the lines and layering papers and embellishments.

To add more lift to the layers, I added pop dots underneath the pattern papers. I also stamped with chalk ink, on velum with the stamp set

Check out Scraptastic blog to read how I created this page.

July 2015 | Scraptastic Club

This month I have created two layouts using Scraptastic's kit, True Colors.

First is titled You Crazy, Fabulous, Beautiful Girl.
I really love these photos of my daughter before church one morning. I picked this photo because of the morning sun and bright Elmo in the photos had a warm feel as does this kit.
How to: I stared with a sheet of white card stock and cut it down a 1/4 inch on each side. Then I added my photos. Then I cut 1 inch strips of pattern paper from my kit and adhered them at an diagonal. Added title on top of pattern paper. Then I trimmed the pattern paper to fit the white card stock. Then adhere the white cardstock to pink cardstock to create a border. Add journaling and label and stickers.

The second layout is titled Lucky Us and features me and my sisters and mom. I am really pleased with this layout. I also created my first layout process video. Check it out below.

This layout was inspired by Susan Stringfellow's sketch that you can see over at the Scraptastic Blog.

Project Life TLN | Scraptastic Kits

Today on the Scraptastic Blog, I am sharing two layouts using Scraptastic kits along with Nathalie Leonelli.

This spread is the This Life Noted (TLN) from April 2015. I have used most of this kit up! I really loved using this kit.
We took a trip up to Blue Ridge, Georgia to ride a train to McCaysville, Tennessee. It was fun and the kids enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the ride. It was relaxing for a day trip.

On the right, I cut down 4 inches of a 10-3x4, 1-4x6 pocket page to create a insert because I wanted to include a lot of photos from our trip.

I bought the fuse tool at Hobby Lobby (with coupon) recently. It was well worth the purchase. I see more fusing in the future. I created 2 pockets on this spread. I used the extra page protector sleeves from where I cut down the page protector to create this extra flap over a photo and added journaling on the back of the flap. I also created a 4x6 sleeve using a extra page protector. This is a great way to hide journaling.
This is the other side of the spread. I added a pocket with the velum clouds and sun to create a peek through pocket since it's all one event and a insert.
Creating demention with out too much thickness is important for me with PL. To create this, I layered the cut files for the April 2015 digital print and cut with the Elle's Studio stickers, a vellum star, and a couple of enamel dots and done!

Design A | Project Life

I have two more Project Life layouts to share with you. These are more from July that I haven't shared yet. I promise I will be sharing fall Project Life spreads soon.

I will be creating a album for my photos and words in one album for 2014 and it is called Project Life. Project Life 2014 is super simple... photos, cards, and words.

Sometimes I like to add a few embellishments here and there, but I still like to keep my spreads simple. If you noticed I have been sticking with Design A page protectors. I take mostly horizontal/landscape photos so this layout works best for me and makes the process of planning the pages easier.

Heart It Races | Scraptastic Club

I just love October's Scraptastic Club kit, Heart It Races. I love all the colors with the pinks and yellows (my favorite colors right now). I want to use every bit of this kit up!

First up is a page documenting my anniversary. I love that scollop paper.

Second up is the layout with Sadie in the sink. I love this starburst paper! This was perfect for this photo that need to be large. This is a simple layout using the main kit.

These stars are so easy to want to stick them everywhere... very versatile embellishment.

Thanks for looking! Happy crafting!
